Habits are usually regarded as something negative, but that is not always the case. A person could have a nicotine habit, an alchohol habit, or a throat clearing habit – knee bobbing, humming, teeth clicking, whistling – the list goes on for nervous traits someone might have to relieve anxiety. But what about the good stuff, like brushing your teeth before bed, or taking vitamins every morning?
A habit could be something comforting, like curling up with a blanket on the couch when you watch late night television. Or drinking a cup of tea, but only lemon, and with two sugars. I think that so long as your habit does not bother anyone, or interfere in your daily life, what’s the matter with it?
I agree that if it becomes something harmful, like drinking/smoking to excess, or having to chew your food precisely 28 times before you can swallow, or only drive if you have one foot on the brake, well, that might be an issue to adress. But if it comes down to creating a healthy lifestyle, like making it a habit to have fruit instead of cake for dessert, then go for it.
What is the most annoying/bothersome but not dangerous habit you’ve ever heard of? I know you’ve got to have some stories!!
ps – I don’t think I have any ‘habits’ – probably because I’m a gemini and all over the board from one day to the next. A habit requires a commitment that I just can’t make, lololol
